Magic Makes Medicine Magical: Valladolid’s Close-Up Magic Festival Returns
Valladolid is preparing to be enchanted as the city’s beloved Magia de Cerca Festival returns for its sixth year, bringing the wonder of close-up magic to an unexpected stage: the Faculty of Medicine’s López Prieto Amphitheater.
From February 7th to 28th, every Friday evening, the amphitheater will transform into a captivating stage, offering audiences an intimate and unforgettable experience. Fernando Arribas, the festival’s organizer and a renowned magician himself, explains the unique appeal of close-up magic: "Unlike stage shows, close-up magic requires a smaller audience to truly appreciate the intricate details and artistry of each performance. It’s a more personal, immersive experience where the audience feels like they are part of the magic."
This year’s lineup features a dazzling array of internationally acclaimed magicians, each bringing their unique style and skill to the stage.
Here’s a glimpse of what awaits:
-
February 7th: Chilean illusionist Gabriel Gascón kicks off the festival with his innovative use of seemingly ordinary objects, like sponges, in his mesmerizing acts.
-
February 14th: Alex Louzao, a talented artist from Galicia, Spain, will enchant audiences with his blend of illusionism, circus skills, and comedic timing.
-
February 21st: Argentine mentalist Tony Montana will showcase his mastery of card tricks, mind-reading, and telekinetic feats, leaving audiences in awe.
- February 28th: Luis Otero, a Venezuelan magician specializing in adult audiences, will bring the festival to a hilarious and captivating close with a fusion of magic and comedy.
Tickets for each individual performance are available for €14, or audiences can purchase a full festival pass for €56. Early bird tickets guarantee a coveted spot in the first three rows, ensuring an even closer encounter with the magic.
The Valladolid Magia de Cerca Festival promises a truly unforgettable experience for all.
