Court Appearance and Charges Against Tomas Cypas
Tomas Cypas, residing at Old Bridge Park in Lucan, was brought before Blanchardstown District Court in connection with the death of Juris Kokenbergs. Gardaí (Irish police) arrested Mr. Cypas on Monday following reports of an incident at a Lucan house, where Mr. Kokenbergs was discovered deceased. Mr. Cypas faces charges of assault causing serious harm to Mr. Kokenbergs, alleged to have occurred between October 26th and 28th.
According to Garda Neil McGrath from Lucan Garda Station, Mr. Cypas remained silent when charged and cautioned at 10:41 PM yesterday.
Bail Application Denied
Gardaí opposed bail, citing the severity of the charge. Mr. O’Neill, the solicitor representing Mr. Cypas, sought bail with stringent conditions, but Judge Mark O’Connell denied the application.
Mr. Cypas was remanded in custody and ordered to reappear at Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday, November 5th. Judge O’Connell granted Mr. Cypas access to legal aid.
Details of the incident remain under investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Juris Kokenbergs during this difficult time.
