EVE Inc.’s Annual Chocolate Party Raises Funds for Domestic Violence Survivors
Marietta, OH – The 37th annual EVE Chocolate Party fundraiser, held Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Glenwood Community in Marietta, successfully raised approximately $2,600 to support EVE Inc.’s programs for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The event drew an estimated 175 attendees.
A Sweet Tradition of Support
The EVE Chocolate Party featured over 60 different chocolate creations, ranging from baked goods to candies, all donated by individuals and local businesses. Attendees paid $10 per person or $25 per family, with the option to purchase to-go boxes.
“People are coming here to support the survivors of domestic violence and to keep their shelter operational so people can have a safe place to go to,” said Trina Rataicvak, EVE Executive Director.
From Chocolate on the Levee to Glenwood Community
The fundraiser has a rich history, previously known as Chocolate on the Levee and Chocolate at the Betsey when hosted at the Levee House and the Betsey Mills Club, respectively. It transitioned to the Glenwood Community in 2017. News and Sentinel reports that Glenwood has been a valuable partner in hosting the event.
Community Contributions
Local businesses such as Giant Eagle, Busy Bee, Holl’s Chocolate, Lisa’s Sweet Stop, and the Village Cakery, along with numerous individuals, contributed to the event’s success by donating chocolate creations.
“All of the money raised here goes directly to helping survivors,” Rataicvak stated.
Impact of EVE Inc.
EVE Inc. Provides vital resources to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, including shelter, counseling, and other support services. Currently, nine individuals, including children, are being served at the EVE Shelter.
Judge Randall Jedlink of the Marietta Municipal Court expressed his support, stating he has “seen, firsthand, the aid the EVE Shelter gives to a lot of people, a lot of victims of crime.”
A Survivor’s Story
Angie House of Marietta, a former resident of the EVE Shelter, shared her experience, highlighting the organization’s life-changing assistance. House, who now runs a food truck, organized a fundraiser last year that raised $500 for the shelter’s children and plans to continue the effort this year. She emphasized that EVE Inc. Helped her secure housing, education, and support for her children when she had nowhere else to turn.
Looking Ahead
The EVE Chocolate Party serves not only as a crucial fundraiser but also as a community awareness event. EVE Inc. Relies on the continued support of the community to provide essential services to survivors.
