Marius Borg Høiby Trial Postponed Due to Judge’s Illness
Oslo, Norway – The trial of Marius Borg Høiby, son of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, has been postponed on Tuesday due to the illness of one of the judges, according to a press release from the Oslo District Court. The court hopes to resume proceedings on Wednesday and still conclude the main hearings on Thursday.
Details of the Postponement
The illness affects the expert judge on the panel, which also includes two co-judges – ordinary citizens who participate in decisions alongside the legal professional judge. Aftenposten first reported the news.
Prosecution and Defense Proceedings
Prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø was scheduled to continue presenting the case on Tuesday morning, followed by the defense attorneys. During Monday’s proceedings, Henriksbø argued that although Høiby is not a “monster,” he demonstrates a lack of respect for rules “that apply to us all.” She is seeking a conviction on charges of four rapes and abuse in close relationships.
Høiby denies all criminal guilt.
Prosecution Reversal on Visiting Ban
The prosecution has reversed its stance on one count of the indictment concerning a visiting ban, announcing they will submit a claim for acquittal on that charge.
