OSLO DISTRICT COURT (Nettavisen): On Friday, the woman from west Oslo continued her explanation about the alleged rape the prosecution believes Marius Borg Høiby committed against her.

In court, a number of intimate details emerged, including voluntary sexual intercourse between the woman and Høiby, after they had been to a nachspiel.

Høiby denies the alleged rape, which is said to have taken place in the woman’s own home on the west side of Oslo.

– The case is drowning in sensation

In November 2024, Høiby was arrested and charged with rape. This was the first of a series of alleged rape cases the police investigated against him. Four of them have ended up in court.

For the woman in west Oslo, it has been very important to maintain anonymity, but she has nevertheless experienced having her name spread on social media.

– After the indictment came, my name has been spread, everyone in my hometown knows who I am, said the woman in the witness box, clearly affected.

– The case is drowning in sensation. For me it is my case, my rape case. Everything has been so much bigger than me.

– I have been ashamed and embarrassed

For the woman, the world was never the same, it was in August 2025 that charges were brought against Høiby.

– There has been a lot about the case that has been given more space, the media, the lawyers, the police and the studies. I felt quite trapped and lonely in my life. Everything in my life was about this, said the woman, embittered, sitting in the witness box.

– I have felt that my life was put on hold, I have been ashamed, embarrassed and have had low self-esteem. The case has affected me to a much greater extent than I thought. I am a pretty confident lady but this has affected me badly.

The woman’s legal counsel is clear that it has been difficult for the victim to explain herself about very private and intimate details, and few videos have been presented in court.

– It is clear that it is tiring and burdensome to be here in court, but at the same time she is relieved to be finished, says Hege Salomon.

– She has given her explanation and we will soon finish presenting the evidence in her case. It will be good for her to move on.

The police asked the woman to keep close

When the police contacted her in November 2024, she was strictly told not to tell anyone about the case until she had been questioned. She also learned that the case concerned a celebrity and that “the media was going to be on”.

– The reason why the police asked that she not speak to anyone is that in this type of case it is important that they are given the opportunity to initiate an investigation and secure evidence for any criminal offences, before anyone can influence witnesses or remove evidence, state prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø explains to Nettavisen.

– Then the police wanted to secure her explanation.

The woman immediately went in for questioning, but had no idea what the case was really about. In court, she explained that she had a bad feeling that it could apply to pictures Høiby had taken of her, without consent.

Instead, she was shown five videos in which, according to the police, she was not active in four of them. The woman thinks the same, she explained in court.

In questioning, Høiby said that he agreed with this, but in court he explained that he did not know that the woman was sleeping.

The alleged assault must have occurred on March 24, 2024.

The films were made at:

  • Movie 1: 08.08: Duration of 28.93 seconds. It is agreed between the parties that the woman is active in voluntary sexual acts on this video.
  • Around four minutes pass between film 1 and film 2. Something that became a point in court.
  • Movie 2: 08.12: Duration of 9.83 seconds. The woman sleeps and is subjected to abuse, according to the prosecutor’s office.
  • Movie 3: 08.16: Duration of 26.08 seconds. The woman sleeps and is subjected to abuse, according to the prosecutor’s office.
  • Film 4: 08.19: Duration of 15.44 seconds. The woman sleeps and is subjected to abuse, according to the prosecutor’s office.
  • Movie 5: 08.25: -Duration of 20.90 seconds. The woman sleeps and is subjected to abuse, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Public prosecutor Henriksbø believes it is important to find out how the woman has been. In court, he asked the woman questions about this.

– What she says can substantiate her explanation and in what way the case has affected her. But it also has an impact on sentencing, and it is important to clarify what consequences the defendant allegedly exposes women to with this type of action, he says.

The Høiby defenders about media pressure

Høiby’s defenders have noted the intense media interest the case has had, but also that the women are drawn into it. This is something Høiby must have registered.

– I know it has made an impression on him. He does not think this is good at all, it is a very serious matter and very serious accusations, says defender Petar Sekulic.

– He really believes that he has done nothing criminal.

– But he finds it very unpleasant that the women he has had sex with are exposed to this media pressure. I know he finds that very uncomfortable, adds Ellen Holager Andenæs, Høiby’s other defender.

Complained about NRK

The woman also said that there were photographers standing outside her home, and that journalists contacted friends of hers to get information, after the indictment became public knowledge.

– It is not certain that it is connected to the indictment here, but on the same day that the indictment came, there was a photographer there.

In one case, an NRK journalist is said to have also told the woman’s friend what the indictment was about.

The case with NRK has been complained to the Press’ Professional Committee (PFU)which is a complaint body that assesses whether the press has acted according to ethical guidelines and been considerate.
