Marshall Amplification Launches Amplify Program to Support Grassroots Music Venues
Marshall Amplification has announced Amplify, a new membership scheme designed to support independent music venues worldwide. The program commits 1% of member purchases made on marshall.com to local music communities and venues.
The Plight of Grassroots Venues
The launch of Amplify comes at a critical time for independent music venues globally. These venues, vital not only as performance spaces but as well as community and cultural hubs, are facing unprecedented challenges. Factors contributing to this struggle include a changing music scene, declining profitability, increased touring costs, and job losses, leading to numerous venue closures. The sector is described as “fragile” and “one shock away from a crisis” according to recent reports.
How Amplify Works
Amplify is a free-to-join membership program offering several benefits to participants:
- Free shipping on all orders
- Priority customer support
- Early access to limited-run launches and special offers
With each purchase made by an Amplify member on the Marshall website, 1% of the total order value will be donated to support independent music venues.
Marshall’s Previous Support for Live Music
Marshall’s commitment to supporting live music extends beyond the launch of Amplify. In the past, Marshall co-founder Terry Marshall and his wife Leslie Marshall donated £100,000 ($130,361) to Music Venue Trust’s ‘Own Our Venues’ campaign and provided backline equipment to 20 venues. Marshall partnered with the Music Venue Trust in November for ‘Marshall Nights,’ a series of UK-wide shows aimed at supporting independent venues and emerging artists.
A Long-Term Commitment
Jeremy de Maillard, CEO of Marshall, emphasized the long-term vision behind Amplify: “For over 60 years, Marshall has amplified live music, from local independent venues to the world’s biggest stages. Small venues are where the next generation of musicians turn first time listeners into lifelong fans. Through Amplify, Marshall is building a long-term model to support the future of live music.”
Nick Street, Marshall’s CMO, added, “Independent venues aren’t just part of music history – they’re where the future is written. Amplify is how we connect our community more closely to that future. As Marshall grows, grassroots music will grow with us.”
Supporting Emerging Artists and Communities
The initial focus of Amplify will be on independent venues globally that play a key role in championing up-and-coming artists and fostering local music communities. Funds generated through the program will be used to provide support ranging from backline equipment to funding for live events.
Amplify launched on March 4, 2026. More information can be found on the Marshall website.
