Martha Stewart Spills All: Shocking Prison Revelations in New Netflix Doc

In her new Netflix documentary “Martha,” the famous businesswoman and lifestyle icon reveals shocking details about her time in prison, surprising infidelities, and her tumultuous marriage. Here are some of the biggest bombshells:

Solitary Confinement: A “Camp Cupcake” Nightmare

Stewart claims a lighthearted interaction with two female prison guards led to her being sent to solitary confinement. She recounts in letters to the filmmakers, “Today I saw two very well-dressed ladies walking and I breezed by them, remarking on the beautiful warm morning and how nice they looked… When I realized from the big silver keychain that they were guards, I lightly brushed the chain.”

Stewart explains, “Later I was called in to be told never, ever touch a guard without expecting severe reprimand.” She maintains she was punished unjustly, saying, “I was dragged into solitary for touching an officer. No food or water for a day. This was Camp Cupcake, remember? That was the nickname. It was not a cupcake.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons disputes Stewart’s account, stating they do not have solitary confinement units but occasionally use “secure observation areas under direct supervision” for specific situations.

Admitting to an Affair: “It Was Nothing”

Stewart candidly discusses an affair she had while married to her husband Andrew Stewart. She insists it was brief and insignificant, claiming, “It was nothing. In terms of – it would never have broken up a marriage. I would never have broken up a marriage for it. Nothing.”

The affair took place during a trip to Florence, where she met a handsome stranger while visiting the Duomo. She describes the encounter as “emotional” and compares it to a kiss she shared with another stranger during the same trip.

Surprisingly, director R.J. Cutler reveals that Andrew Stewart confirmed awareness of the affair during filming. When told by Cutler, Stewart seemed shocked, stating “Oh, that’s not true. I don’t think.”

Andrew’s Infidelities: A Marital Strain

Stewart confesses that Andrew, to whom she was married for 30 years, had numerous affairs during their marriage, confessing, “I don’t know how many different girlfriends he had during this time, but I think there were quite a few.”

She advises young women, “If you’re married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he’s a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage. But I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t walk away.”
