Martin Józsa Wins Big Air Gold at European Cup in St. Anton

St. Anton, Austria – Slovak snowboarder Martin Józsa achieved a significant victory, winning the Big Air competition at the European Cup event held in St. Anton. The triumph marks the biggest success of his career to date.

Dominant Performance in the Finals

During the finals of the Stanton Battle 2026, Józsa delivered a dominant performance, earning a score of 176.00 points. This secured him first place with a 9.67-point lead over Switzerland’s Reef Matt Hasler, who finished second. France’s Noé Petit rounded out the podium in third place.

Career Milestone for Slovak Snowboarder

The 20-year-aged Józsa’s win represents a career milestone, surpassing his previous best European Cup result of second place in slopestyle at the 2025 event in Prato Nevoso, Italy.

Overcoming Qualification Challenges

Józsa’s path to gold wasn’t straightforward. He qualified for the finals in sixth place in his group, achieving a score of 69.00 points. However, he dramatically improved his performance in the final round, executing his most challenging tricks to secure the highest overall score.

Winning Tricks

In the final, Józsa successfully landed a frontside 1440 mute and a backside 1620 tail. “I managed to land both of my hardest tricks, which was the basis for my victory,” Józsa stated to the Slovak Skiing Association.

Slovakia’s Second Competitor

Slovakia also had a second competitor in the final, with Tadeáš Nedielka finishing ninth with a score of 132.33 points. Józsa’s winning score of 176.00 points was the highest of the final and the only one exceeding 170 points.
