McLaren Triumphs in Abu Dhabi, Securing Historic Constructors’ Championship

Lando Norris delivered a stunning victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in early December, securing McLaren their first FIA Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship in 26 years. This dramatic conclusion to the longest-ever Formula 1 season saw Norris fend off Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, ultimately clinching the title by a mere 14 points. It marks McLaren’s first Constructors’ Championship since 1998.

Norris Shines in a Flawless Finale

Norris produced a masterful performance throughout the 58-lap season finale, bringing immense joy to the McLaren F1 team and their passionate fan base, known as “papaya fans,” worldwide. After crossing the finish line, Norris lauded the team’s immense effort and expressed his personal ambition to push for an even greater success in 2025. His commanding drive in Abu Dhabi was a clear testament to his ability to compete at the pinnacle of motorsport.

“The team have done an amazing job this year to come from where we were. I’m so proud of everyone,” said Norris. “To end the season like this is perfect, so congrats to everyone in papaya and everyone who supported us this year because it’s been a tough one.”

Norris, 25, also acknowledged areas for improvement, stating, “I know better than anyone what I need to improve on and where I’m not strong enough. And I feel like I’ve already done that quite in a lot in the last three, four, five races. Next year is hopefully where I can go and fight for the F1 drivers’ world championship.”

McLaren’s success marks a remarkable resurgence for the British team, after years of rebuilding. This hard-earned victory serves as a potent reminder of their enduring legacy in Formula 1 and their hunger for future success.

Stay tuned to see what next year holds for Lando Norris and McLaren in their pursuit of more Formula 1 glory.
