Kenyan Startups Secure Four Spots in Google for Startups Accelerator Africa Class 10

On April 21, 2026, Kenyan startups Coamana, Duck, ReportsAI, and VunaPay were selected for the 10th cohort of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program, marking Kenya’s strongest showing in the initiative’s history.

The accelerator, which began in 2018, has supported over 180 startups across Africa, helping them raise more than $350 million in funding and create thousands of jobs. Class 10 focuses on AI-first startups addressing challenges in healthcare, climate resilience, agriculture, and societal benefits.

The four Kenyan companies selected represent diverse applications of AI technology:

  • Duck: Develops AI-powered financial services platforms
  • ReportsAI: Specializes in automated business intelligence and reporting tools
  • VunaPay: Provides digital payment solutions for underserved communities

Program Impact and Outcomes

Selected startups will participate in a combination of remote and in-person sessions, including one-to-one mentoring, group learning, and sprint projects. The program culminates in a Demo Day and graduation event where startups showcase their progress.
