Merel Ek Addresses Interest: ‘Yes, I Too Was Approached by Them’

Merel Ek was a guest at Today Inside on Tuesday evening. The political reporter sat at the bar during the daily talk show, having joined Wilfred Genee, johan Derksen and René van der Gijp several times as her pregnancy.

She intends to continue appearing on the show, despite outside interest. RTL offered several Today Inside guests a position on RTL Tonight, with Albert Verlinde, Lale Gül and Ben van den Burg discussing the offer publicly.

“they approached you at RTL Tonight as well?” Genee asked during Tuesday’s broadcast. Ek confirmed that RTL Tonight had made contact.

“I now onyl wonder: who hasn’t?” Genee mused, questioning if Ek had considered the offer. “Very bad! No, I didn’t think this was the right time, because I am far too happy here.”
