Mexico Tourism Delegation Convenes 84 Operators in Houston and Dallas
Mexico’s tourism ministry led a promotional tour across Texas from October 20 to 23, 2026, meeting with 84 tour operators in Houston and Dallas to expand commercial ties and boost visitor numbers. The delegation, which promoted destinations ranging from Oaxaca to the Tren Maya, highlighted the country’s cultural and culinary offerings to key travel planners in the United States, gob.mx reported.
Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora stated on social media that the outreach aims to showcase Mexico’s rich landscape beyond its borders. The initiative targeted regional travel professionals who design and sell itineraries, providing them with direct connections to regional Mexican tourism boards and infrastructure projects.
Detailed Itinerary Across Texas Cities
The delegation’s schedule began with structured presentations tailored to regional travel markets. On October 21, the ministry met with 51 tour operators in Houston. The following day, on October 22, the delegation engaged 33 additional operators in Dallas.

Marcela Camacho Lozano, director general of Innovation of the Tourism Product, led the Mexican delegation on behalf of Rodríguez Zamora. The visiting group included representatives from the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Nayarit, alongside major infrastructure and cultural projects including the Tren Maya, Grupo Mundo Maya, and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
Screen Film Incentives and Aviation Partnerships
Beyond traditional tour operations, the delegation pursued specialized commercial sectors during its stops in Texas. In Dallas, officials convened a screen tourism meeting with representatives from the Dallas Film Commission, CINEVOZ, and production companies to pitch Mexican backdrops for film projects.
The delegation also held a meeting with representatives of American Airlines at their offices in Fort Worth, Texas, to strengthen the link with the aviation sector and explore collaboration opportunities for promoting Mexican destinations, taking advantage of the connectivity between Mexico and the United States.
Medical Tourism Expansion at the Dallas Consulate
The Texas mission concluded with a dedicated medical tourism session hosted at the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas. Officials explored possibilities for linkage in this segment and expanded opportunities to diversify the national tourism offer.
Camacho Lozano acknowledged the coordination with the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas to promote the country’s tourism. The meetings in Texas form part of a strategy by Sectur to maintain engagement with North American travel markets ahead of upcoming industry events like the Tianguis Turístico.
