Michael Irvin Slams San Francisco’s Super Bowl 60 Hosting as ‘Horrible’

Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin has delivered a scathing critique of Super Bowl 60, hosted in the San Francisco Bay Area, calling it the “worst” Super Bowl he has ever attended. Irvin expressed his dissatisfaction with the city, the atmosphere and the overall experience, stating the NFL should avoid returning to the region for future Super Bowl events.

Irvin’s Harsh Assessment

Following the Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the New England Patriots on February 8th, Irvin took to his YouTube channel to share his blunt assessment. He described the entire event as “blah,” criticizing the city’s energy, the people, and even the buildings. “This was a horrible Super Bowl. They should never ever, ever, ever bring the Super Bowl back to San Francisco,” Irvin stated. “In all the years of going to a Super Bowl, this was the worst.”

Irvin elaborated, expressing disappointment that despite the presence of the tech industry in the Bay Area, the Super Bowl lacked a vibrant atmosphere. “I’m thinking there should be so much money out here because the tech is out here, but it all looked so blah… I couldn’t wait until this moment came to notify you damn! I believe this is the worst Super Bowl I have ever gone to,” he continued. He did allow for the possibility of the NFC Championship game being held in the area if a team earned it.

Long-Standing Cowboys-49ers Rivalry

Irvin’s strong words are rooted in the historic rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. Despite the 49ers no longer playing in San Francisco proper, with their stadium located in nearby Santa Clara, the animosity remains palpable for the Hall of Fame wide receiver.

Super Bowl 61 Headed to Los Angeles

Fortunately for Irvin, Super Bowl 61 is scheduled to be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Yahoo Sports notes this will also mark the first Super Bowl broadcast on ESPN and the first on ABC in 20 years, featuring the broadcast team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

Irvin’s Continued Commentary

This isn’t the first time Irvin has publicly shared his opinions recently. He previously commented on a viral meme featuring himself and criticized a draft decision by Fernando Mendoza. As reported by Yahoo Sports, Irvin also recently sent a message to Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, urging him to remain in Dallas.
