Minnesota Gymnastics Makes History at 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships

The field is set for the 2026 national championship. Minnesota gymnastics celebrates. After an electric semifinal Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas, four teams advanced to the finals: Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, and Minnesota.

The 13th-seeded Golden Gophers made history by becoming the first team seeded outside the top 10 to reach the Four on the Floor at the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships. Minnesota posted a score of 197.4625 in the semifinals, finishing second behind defending champion Oklahoma, which recorded a 198.300.

Florida and LSU similarly secured their spots in the championship final with scores of 197.7875, and 197.4375, respectively. UCLA, Arkansas, Georgia, and Stanford were eliminated during the semifinals.

Oklahoma’s Faith Torrez won the all-around title with a 39.7875, even as Keira Wells claimed the vault title with a 9.975. Florida’s Riley McCusker earned a national title on balance beam with a 9.9875.

The 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships are being held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, marking the eighth year the event has taken place in the city and the sixth year at this venue. The finals are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+.

Minnesota and UCLA represented the Big Ten Conference in the semifinals, with Minnesota earning its first semifinal appearance since 2022 and UCLA securing back-to-back trips after winning the Corvallis Regional.

This championship continues to showcase the nation’s elite collegiate gymnastics programs, with Minnesota’s historic run highlighting the depth and competitiveness of the sport.
