Missouri Attorney General to Become FBI Co-Deputy Director
Missouri Attorney General andrew Bailey, a strong supporter of President Trump, announced his resignation to take a high-ranking leadership position at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Bailey’s last day as attorney general is September 8th. He will then serve as co-deputy director of the FBI alongside Dan Bongino, who recently returned to work amidst controversy surrounding the release of the Epstein Files.
“My life has been defined by a call to service, and I am once again answering that call, this time at the national level,” Bailey stated.
the deputy director position at the FBI is a powerful role, second only to the director. It’s a critical position overseeing day-to-day operations and major investigations. Bailey’s appointment signals a potential shift in priorities for the bureau. He’s known for his conservative legal stances and has been a vocal advocate for stricter law enforcement policies. This move raises questions about the future direction of the FBI under his leadership.
Bongino’s return to the FBI also adds an interesting dynamic. Despite a past falling out with Trump, he remains a prominent conservative voice. The co-deputy director structure suggests a deliberate attempt to balance different perspectives within the bureau’s leadership.
Bailey’s departure leaves a vacancy in the Missouri Attorney General’s office, which will be filled by a yet-to-be-determined appointee. His tenure in Missouri was marked by several high-profile cases and a commitment to challenging federal overreach. Now, he’s taking that fight to the national stage.
