Prime Minister Modi to Visit Israel, Address Knesset

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Israel for two days, starting February 25, 2026, and is expected to address the Israeli Knesset (parliament). The visit was first announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an event in Jerusalem on February 15, 2026.

Strengthening the India-Israel Alliance

Netanyahu hailed the “tremendous alliance” between Israel and India, emphasizing the potential for increased cooperation. Recent Bilateral Cooperation

The visit builds on recent momentum in the India-Israel strategic partnership. Several high-level ministerial exchanges took place in 2025, focused on strengthening ties and paving the way for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

  • Israeli Ministers Haim Katz, Nir Barkat, Avi Dichter, and Bezalel Smotrich visited India.
  • India and Israel signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) and Terms of Reference (TOR) for the FTA.
  • Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Israel in December, meeting with key Israeli leaders.

Defense and Technological Collaboration

In November 2025, India and Israel signed an agreement to enhance defense, industrial, and technological cooperation, including the sharing of advanced technology for co-development and co-production.
