More than 2,000 flights canceled in the Northeast US due to heavy rains

The intense rains that affect the northeast area of USA, in the midst of an extreme heat wave, forced the cancellation of more than 2,000 flights internal or bound for this country, of which more than 300 were at the international airport of Newark, in New Jersey.

“Due to heavy rain and fog, customers are advised to check with their airline before arriving at the airport,” LaGuardia’s tweet stated.

Heavy rains accompanied by thunder and flooding have affected the Northeast of the country over the weekend and the states with the highest precipitation are expected to be New York, New Jersey, Pensilvania, Delaware y Maryland.
