Mourning is one of the songs with which Post Malone has presented his fifth studio album, Austin, posted on July 28. The rapper released this pop and trap-style single on May 19, but his video clip arrived a few days before the album, on July 24.
The American is sincere on the subject when discussing his alcohol problems and tells that he can’t help but drink. “I don’t want to be sober. I try to keep it in, but I just want to pour it out. I thought it was strong enough,” she repeats in the chorus. In his verses he talks about partying and getting drunk, as well as the negative side of being popular.
The artist refers to false friends who are only interested in his wealth: “When Money is not a problemeveryone lies”. He also expresses his difficulties in connecting with someone. The composition does not last two and a half minutes. Post Malone appears in the credits of this work with his real name, Austin Post. The other authors are Andrew Watt y Louis Bell.
The video of Mourningdirected by Ramez Silyan, shows how the interpreter strives to move a huge ice cube in the middle of the field. He throws a bottle into the sky, as the lyrics of the song indicate, and just use a flamethrower to reduce the block size. At the end, the piece shows the musician pouring an ice cube into a glass of alcohol.
Mourning is one of the 17 tracks that are part of Austinan album that also includes the singles Chemical y Overdrive. The artist is presenting his new songs on a concert tour that bears the name of If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Tour. His fans will be able to see him live in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Brazil before Post Malone set course for Asia and Oceania.
