The first two days of the Swiss SC Swimming Championships have seen several new National Record times as athletes prepare for the European Short Course Championships next month.
Athletes are using this meet to earn qualifying times for the Championships, and numerous new qualifying times were achieved over the first two days.
Day one Recap
On day one, 19-year-old angelina Patt swam 27.04 in the women’s 50 backstroke,breaking Nina Kost‘s 2018 Swiss record of 27.27. This is her first individual Swiss National Record.
patt also won the women’s 400 IM, touching in 4:43.38,nearly eight seconds ahead of second-place finisher Lilla Hauer (4:51.35). Patt missed the European Championships qualifying time of 4:41.20 by just over two tenths of a second.
Noe Ponti swam under the qualifying times in both the men’s 50 free and 50 backstroke, winning both events.In the 50 free, he clocked a time of 21.61, and in the 50 backstroke, he finished in 23.63.
