The secretary general of the I’LL TAKE, Jens Stoltenberghighlighted this Tuesday that if we aspire to achieve a negotiated solution to the war in ukraineit is necessary to continue military support for kyiv, and stressed that the chances of an “acceptable negotiated result” increase if support for that country increases.

“If we want a negotiated solution, the way to get there is military support for Ukraine,” declared the Norwegian politician upon his arrival at the meeting of European Union defense ministers taking place today in Brussels and in which Stoltenberg steps in to talk about protecting critical infrastructure.

The Secretary General stressed that wars “are unpredictable” and “no one can say how and when” the conflict in Ukraine will end, but assured that the probability of an “acceptable negotiated outcome” increases the more military support is provided to Kiev.

“For now, we have not seen a real willingness from President (of Russia, Vladimir) Putin, to negotiate an acceptable solution for Ukraine, So the only way to get there is to convince President Putin that he won’t win on the battlefield.

The only way to achieve that is by strengthening Ukraine’s military capacity by providing support,” he commented. He also stressed that it is up to Kiev to decide what are the “acceptable” conditions for negotiating with Russia and “even more importantly, what are acceptable conditions for any agreement”.
