North Carolina A&T Women’s Basketball Defeats Monmouth in CAA Road Victory
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – North Carolina A&T secured a 71-65 victory over the Monmouth Hawks in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) women’s basketball action on Friday night at OceanFirst Bank Center. The Aggies were led by a career performance from fifth-year center Chaniya Clark, who scored a game-high 26 points.

North Carolina A&T improved to 11-15 overall and 6-9 in CAA play with the win, while Monmouth fell to 18-9 overall and 11-5 in league play. Despite 19 points from Monmouth’s Alexis Andrews, the Aggies controlled the game in the paint, outscoring the Hawks 28-12.
First Half Dominance

Second Half Battle
A&T initially extended their lead in the third quarter, but Monmouth rallied with three 3-pointers to take a 50-45 lead into the fourth quarter. Monmouth’s Alexis Andrews gave the Hawks a 57-51 lead with 5:46 remaining in the game.
Aggies Surge to Victory
The Aggies regained control in the fourth quarter, fueled by Clark’s versatility. She scored in the paint and hit a 3-pointer to bring A&T within one point. After a Monmouth technical foul, Clark converted the free throws, and Paris Locke followed with a layup, giving A&T a 60-59 lead with 4:22 remaining. Clark then scored four straight points, and after a Monmouth 3-pointer, she hit another 3-pointer to extend the lead to 67-62 with 65 seconds left. Clark sealed the win with four free throws in the final 20 seconds.
