North Dakota State Men’s Basketball Sees Trio Depart via Transfer Portal

FARGO — The North Dakota State University men’s basketball team will look different next season as three players have announced their departures, including a key contributor from the recent championship-winning squad. Sophomore forward Treyson Anderson, along with fourth-year players Noah Feddersen and Damari Wheeler-Thomas, will all pursue opportunities elsewhere, according to reports from InForum.

Anderson’s Departure

Anderson, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season for the Summit League champions. He started the final 20 games of the season, earning a more prominent role after initially sharing time with Feddersen. Anderson completed his sophomore season shooting nearly 36% from three-point range and had a notable stretch of three consecutive 20-point games in conference play, including a four three-pointer performance against South Dakota State. Over 49 career games, Anderson averaged 8 points for the Bison.

Feddersen and Wheeler-Thomas Move On

Both Feddersen and Wheeler-Thomas informed head coach Dave Richman of their intentions to transfer after the season. Feddersen, a forward, was recognized as the league’s Sixth Man of the Year, while Wheeler-Thomas earned the conference tournament MVP honors. Their contributions were instrumental in NDSU’s success this season.

Roster Changes

These departures, combined with the graduations of Tay Smith and Markhi Strickland, leave five open roster spots. But, North Dakota State has already secured commitments from five incoming freshmen who will join the team this summer, as reported by InForum.

Player Profiles

Noah Feddersen is a forward for North Dakota State, with his profile available on ESPN and NDSU’s official athletics website. Treyson Anderson’s departure leaves only two players over 6-foot-7 on the current roster: redshirt junior Noah Feddersen and another sophomore, according to 247Sports.
