Production crews for the new Netflix film Project K arrived around the station in Schaerbeek to film, according to reports. The biographical feature, directed by Yvan Attal, focuses on the true story of Nazi-hunters Serge and Beate Klarsfeld and their pursuit of former German Gestapo chief Klaus Barbie.

Starring Cast and Real-Life History

French actor and comedian Dany Boon, known for his work in Welcome to the land of the Ch’tis, takes on the role of the French-Jewish lawyer Serge Klarsfeld. German actress Diane Kruger, whose past credits include Inglourious Basterds, portrays his German-French journalist wife, Beate Klarsfeld. Together, the couple dedicated their lives to tracking down war criminals and former Nazis to hold them accountable for their crimes.

The narrative centers specifically on the hunt for Klaus Barbie, who operated in occupied France during the Second World War. Barbie was responsible for the torture, deportation, and deaths of thousands of individuals. Following the war, the Nazi fled to Bolivia, where he was eventually tracked down in 1983 before being extradited to France.

Filming Locations in Brussels and Beyond

The production for the new Netflix film arrived around the Schaerbeek station on a Thursday to carry out filming scheduled for both Thursday and Friday. Earlier in the week, multiple scenes were captured in the municipality of Saint-Gilles, according to reports from The Latest Hour. Notably, the town hall located at the Van Meenenplein served as a backdrop for the feature-length film.

Following the work in the Belgian capital, the film caravan is scheduled to travel to France and Bolivia to complete further shooting for the project.
