Bryan, Edel, and John Moloney are leading the new business, building on their existing presence in the region. The opening represents a substantial reinvestment in the local economy, according to a statement released by the family on Facebook.
Store Hours and Employment
Moloney’s Centra Ballina will operate with the following hours:
- Monday – Saturday: 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
The project has created 20 new jobs for the Ballina area, providing a boost to local employment. As reported by the Western People, the Moloney family expressed gratitude to local tradespeople and companies for their support during the site’s refurbishment.
Moloney’s Maxol Forecourt to Follow
Alongside the Centra supermarket, Moloney’s Maxol Forecourt is nearing completion. The forecourt is awaiting final fuel license approval before opening to the public. The Western People reports that the forecourt will open in the coming days.
Site History
The new store occupies the site previously home to Judge’s Shop and Filling Station, which the Moloney family acquired in July 2025. According to the Independent.ie, extensive work has since transformed the space.
