Danieli Advances Steel Production with New Casting Powder Facility
daniel takes another importent step towards total control of steel production by making new generation casting powders in house. This will be located in Trieste, within the free zone of Bagnoli della Rosandra (FreeEste).
On Wednesday, December 17th, a memorandum of understanding was signed at headquarters in Buttrio between the newly established Italian-Japanese joint venture Shinagawa Danieli Advanced Materials Spa and the Trieste Interport. This agreement outlines the construction of a production and distribution hub within a part of the warehouse from Wärtsilä adjacent to the Bat site. The facility will produce 10 thousand tons per year of aggregates, specifically casting powders. This represents an investment of approximately 20.25 million euros by the new company.
The plant, expected to be operational in the second half of 2026, will employ around forty people, including workers and specialized technicians. It will feature innovation laboratories integrating advanced japanese and Italian technological skills adapted for the European market. The factory’s turnover is projected to reach 30 million euros.
The facility will produce casting powders, a lubricant crucial in steel manufacturing processes, particularly for modern green steel plants (like those in Sweden or Piombino currently under growth). the process will utilize advanced technological solutions throughout all phases, from creation to packaging.
