Russia to Introduce Unified Textbooks for Native and State Languages

Russia will implement a standardized curriculum with unified textbooks for native languages and the state languages of its republics, beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The initiative, announced by Russian Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, aims to provide consistent language education from the 1st to the 11th grade.

Development and Implementation

The Federal Institute of Native Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation has already prepared manuscripts for textbooks in four state languages: Komi, Tuvan, Chuvash, and Sakha (Yakut). 13 methodological guides for teachers have been created to support the new curriculum. NGS.RU

The prepared textbooks will undergo expert review and refinement in 2026 before being released for utilize in schools.
