New Police Station Inaugurated in Sanary-sur-Mer, France

A new police station in Sanary-sur-Mer, Var, France, is set to be inaugurated on Friday, February 20th, at 11 a.m. At 35 avenue des Champs Fleuris. The opening represents a collaborative effort between the French state, the General Secretariat for Administration of the Ministry of the Interior, and the town of Sanary-sur-Mer.

Addressing a Critical Require

The 1,500 m² facility was built to address a recognized need for improved security, public reception areas, and working conditions for police agents in the region. Sanary-sur-Mer is a resort town and commune in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Southeastern France [1]. It is located 13 km west of Toulon and 49 km southeast of Marseille [1].

Partnership and Development

The creation of the police station is the result of a strong partnership between the national and local governments. Sanary-sur-Mer is known for its authentic fishing port, colorful alleyways, and a Provencal market that was voted the “Most Beautiful Market in France” in 2018 [2]. The town’s port is home to around a hundred colorful boats, some dating back to 1895 [3].

Attendance

The inauguration will be attended by the prefect of Var and the mayor of Sanary-sur-Mer, along with the mayors of the neighboring municipalities of Six-Fours-les-Plages, and Bandol.
