Neymar Considers Retirement After 2026 Season, Eyes One Last World Cup
Brazil forward Neymar has admitted he is contemplating retirement at the conclude of the 2026 season, leaving his future beyond this year uncertain. The 34-year-old, currently playing for Santos, is hoping to feature in this summer’s World Cup, but acknowledges his career is under evaluation.
Return to Santos and Injury Recovery

He made his comeback on Sunday, February 16th, playing 45 minutes and providing an assist in a 6-0 victory over Velo Clube-SP .
“Living Year to Year”
Speaking to Brazilian channel Cazé TV, Neymar stated, “I do not know what will happen in the future, next year. It could be that in December I feel like retiring.” He added, “I’m living year to year now. We will see what my heart decides. It depends on what my heart says later in the year.”
World Cup Ambitions
