Noah Cyrus has shared why her older sister Miley is “a great role model” throughout their careers in the music industry.

Noah Cyrus Reflects on Learning from Sister Miley’s Career, Addresses Family Rumors
Noah Cyrus has spoken about the lessons she’s learned observing her older sister, Miley Cyrus‘s, career, and addressed recent rumors of family discord. In a recent interview, Noah explained that while she didn’t consciously seek to learn from Miley’s experiences while growing up, she later recognized valuable insights.
“I didn’t really look at what she was doing as like, ‘Oh, I’m learning from this,'” Noah said. “As I got older though, and by the time I was 16 and doing my own thing, I did experience parts in her career that I guess maybe felt like in her perspective were harder points or growing periods or changes that were just good examples of what to do or what not to do or what to let someone do or what means you’re getting taken advantage of.” She attributed thes lessons to the age gap between the sisters.
The interview follows a period of family changes and speculation. In 2022, Noah and Miley’s parents, Trish and Billy Ray Cyrus, separated. Trish married Australian actor Dominic Purcell in 2023, and Billy Ray married Firerose that same year, though they have since divorced.
Miley served as a bridesmaid at Trish’s wedding, with siblings Brandi and Trace Cyrus also in attendance. however, younger siblings Braison and Noah were absent, sparking rumors of a family rift. Reports also suggested a falling out between Noah and Miley in 2023.
addressing these rumors in a separate interview with People magazine, Noah stated she maintains a distance from family drama.”I keep myself quite separated from any interest or ‘drama’ with the family. The one thing that’s connected us with the entire world is music, and that’s what’s most critically important to us,” she explained. She added that while emotionally draining,the situation doesn’t deeply affect her. “It’s somthing that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself.”
Both Noah and Miley have recently moved to publicly clarify their relationships with their parents.In May, Miley addressed speculation of a strained relationship with her mother via Instagram. “I rarely comment on rumors,but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” she wrote,explaining that a temporary unfollow on social media was a simple mistake.
Miley also addressed questions about her relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, after not mentioning him in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech.”My dad and I have had our challenges over the years,” she wrote. “Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
