NYC Campaign Finance Board Sets Sights on Fairer Elections with Focus on Matching Funds
The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) is kicking off 2025 with a renewed commitment to equitable elections, emphasizing its vital matching funds program. The first meeting of its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC) on February 12th will dive deep into this initiative, aimed at leveling the playing field for candidates from all walks of life.
“The matching funds program is absolutely essential to ensuring fair and competitive elections in NYC,” stated Samantha Greene, Chair of the VAAC. “We want to empower diverse candidates and make sure they have the resources to run successful campaigns, regardless of their financial background.”
Held virtually on Zoom, the meeting will provide a comprehensive overview of the program, its workings, and practical strategies for maximizing its benefits for aspiring candidates.
Throughout the session, attendees will:
