Oregon Ducks Women’s Beach Volleyball Season Ends at MPSF Championship
The Oregon Ducks women’s beach volleyball team saw their 2026 season conclude with a 0-3 loss to 13th-ranked LSU in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship opening match on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, California.
The Ducks entered the match with an overall record of 17-18, having set a program record for single-season wins under first-year head coach Kristian Kuld. Oregon had previously secured victories over ranked opponents, including No. 19 Georgia State and No. 15 Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and five Ducks pairs finished the season with double-digit win totals.
Despite the loss, the match showcased competitive moments, particularly on Court 3 where Oregon’s Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes won the opening set 21-19 against LSU’s Molly LaBreche and Aubrey O’Gorman. However, LSU secured the match victory with straight-set wins on Courts 1, 2, and 4:
- Court 1: LSU’s Kenzey McGatlin and Julia Sprecher defeated Oregon’s Gwen Fife and AJ Slojkowski 21-11, 21-17
- Court 2: LSU’s Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason defeated Oregon’s Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi 21-10, 21-14
- Court 4: LSU’s Bella Lagemann and Zayna Meyer defeated Oregon’s Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor 21-17, 21-18
Matches on Courts 3 and 5 were left unfinished once LSU clinched the overall victory, per MPSF postseason duals format which plays to the clinching point.
With the defeat, Oregon’s season ended at 17-18 while LSU improved to 22-15 and advanced to face Grand Canyon University in the next round of the championship.
The MPSF Championship continued through April 24, 2026, at Spiker Beach, hosting the conference’s top beach volleyball teams competing for the title.
