Emiliano García-Page’s usually harsh tone towards the central government has taken a greater leap this Friday, after the PSOE’s pact with Junts that involves the delegation of immigration powers. The president of Castilla-La Mancha has launched: “If the powers were requested by Vox, everyone would be scandalized, but Junts asks for them for the same thing…”.

Page, who spoke to the media during an event in Yunquera de Henares (Guadalajara)has gone so far as to say that Puigdemont “works with the idea that all of us who are here [por los españoles] let us be foreigners.” And he has denounced that the former president of the Generalitat who fled from Justice “wants the powers” so that all Spaniards are “foreigners.” The conclusion has been devastating: “If it were up to Puigdemont, I would be a foreigner.”

The president of Castilla-La Mancha has defined Junts as a “supremacist” party and has thus addressed the Sánchez Government: “I would like you to take advantage of this weekend in the Quintos de Mora [donde se reúne el presidente con sus ministros] to think about where this leads.” Because he has insisted that he is concerned about the “marketing” that Moncloa has introduced in his negotiations to remain in power.

Regarding this immigration delegation, which the Government strives to relativize, either by limiting its scope or offering it to the rest of the communities – the Basque Country He already claimed it yesterday for himself – Page is clear that “it is not constitutional”, since it affects an issue of “sovereignty” such as immigration and borders.

This morning, the first vice president, María Jesús Montero, tried to justify the latest concessions to the Catalan separatists by explaining that all the agreements will produce benefits for the country as a whole and, therefore, “will not generate new grievances.” Montero responds to the criticism received for the agreement reached in extremis with Junts, ensuring that both the assumption of the debt and the transfer of powers are within the reach of the rest of the autonomous communities.
