indian soldiers killed two civilians and wounded another when firing without provocation to the other side of the Line of Control separating Indian and Pakistani Kashmir on Saturday, the army of Pakistan.
Indian troops fired indiscriminately at a group of herdsmen around noon, killing one outright and seriously wounding two others, the army said in a statement. He added that one of the injured later died at a hospital.
The Indian army tweeted that a team of its soldiers and policemen intercepted three infiltrators from the Pakistani side in the sector of Krishna Ghati. He explained that they “attacked” the infiltrators, who were seen “falling” near the border. The Indian Army stated that an Indian soldier was shot.
Both sides provided conflicting details that for now offer no points of agreement.
The Pakistani military has made a strong protest to the Indian authorities, saying that Pakistan reserves the right to respond in any way it chooses in order to protect the lives of Kashmiri people living along the Line of Control.
