Luzon Offices and Schools Shut Down Due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine
Malacañang announced on Wednesday evening that all government offices and classes in Luzon will be suspended on Oct. 24, 2024, due to the anticipated heavy rainfall brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. This decision aims to prioritize the safety and well-being of residents in the region.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin emphasized that the suspension applies to all levels of government offices, encompassing both national and local agencies. He clarified that the decision regarding work suspensions for private companies and offices rests with their respective management.
Exemptions for Essential Services

Local Chief Executives have also been granted the authority to implement localized cancellations or suspensions of classes and work in non- Luzon government offices, as deemed necessary based on local conditions and relevant regulations.
