Insurers Respond to Wildfire Recovery Efforts
In the wake of recent devastating wildfires, the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) reports that insurance companies have been actively engaged in supporting recovery initiatives. According to Denni Ritter, vice president of state government relations for the APCIA, insurers were immediately on the ground assisting policyholders and communities impacted by the disasters.
“From the onset of the wildfires, insurers have been on the frontlines assisting customers with disaster recovery,” Ritter stated. “This includes proactively reaching out to impacted customers, establishing localized help centers, and deploying specialized catastrophe teams.”
These teams are focused on facilitating the claims process and providing essential resources to residents. Insurers are working to help individuals secure temporary housing, access food and clothing, and obtain other necessary support during this critical time. The industry’s response aims to expedite the recovery process and provide financial stability to those affected by the wildfires.
