Even if the Rocket de Laval underwent a very bitter elimination by being swept away in the conference final by Charlotte’s Checkers, we can see this season of the CH club as having been a success.
The Rocket was dominant throughout the season, even ending at the forefront of the American League, winning the Macgregor Kilpatrick trophy.
In addition, it is with a team filled with young hopes and led by these same young players that the Rocket was as efficient, which is really encouraging for the future of the Montreal Canadiens.
And all this success is largely linked to the excellent work that Pascal Vincent did at the bar of the team.
He was excellent and led the master’s team, which earned him a lot of flowers throughout the season, and which has also gone back, after having had a very difficult season in Columbus in 23-24.
And often, when a head coach is successful in this way in the American League, he receives job offers in the NHL, whether as an assistant or a head coach.
In the case of Vincent, at the end of the season, even if we knew him attached to the Rocket, we unfortunately saw him leaving for a better opportunity in the NHL.
The chances of remaining at the bar of the Rocket were rather thin after such a season, and therefore, the supporters were preparing to mourn the Quebec coach.
But now we find ourselves in the middle of August, about a month before the opening of the recruit camp and therefore at the start of all hostilities for the 2025-2026 season, and Vincent is still the Rocket coach.
It is an ideal scenario that is realizing.

About two months ago, Marc-Antoine Godin said that Pascal Vincent would be back in Laval.
Obviously, it is still time before the start of the season, but with all the head coach positions which are now filled in the NHL, and the 25-26 campaign which is fast approaching, everything promises that Pascal Vincent will be back at the bar of the Laval Rocket for a second season.
This would really be great news for the team.
Vincent was successful last season, and he was experiencing the team’s key players well, the most important young hopes for the Montreal Canadiens.
He treated them well last season, and he knew how to make the most of everyone and everyone, which is really ideal for the continuation of the development of all these young players.
I obviously speak here especially about Florian Xhekaj, Jared Davidson, Sean Farrell, Joshua Roy, Owen Beck, David Reinbacher, Adam Engstrom and Jacob Fowler.
There are others of course, but it was the main ones that came to my mind and who have been very successful under the orders of Vincent last season.
It is therefore ideal that the different young players in the Rocket who aspire to a position with the Habs soon benefits from the same head coach under which they were successful.
In short, if Vincent is indeed at the helm of the Rocket for the next season, we can really expect a season filled with success.
Admittedly, several veterans have left, but in general, the Rocket always has the same nucleus, and it will be very competitive once again.
