Patten and Heliovaara Rally for Quarter-Final Berth

Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara kept their Wimbledon title defense alive on Monday, clawing back from a set down to defeat Adam Pavlasek and Patrik Rikl. The 2024 champions secured their place in the final eight with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (10-6) victory at the All England Club.

Momentum Building for the Defending Champions

The pair, who also claimed the Australian Open title earlier in 2025, have now accumulated 12 tour-level titles since joining forces in 2024. This latest win sets up a quarter-final clash against the Argentine-French duo of Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard, with a spot in the tournament’s semi-finals on the line.

Mixed Fortunes for Home Favorites

The men’s doubles draw remains crowded with British talent. Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool are still in the bracket, while Neal Skupski continues his campaign alongside American partner Christian Harrison.

Success has not been universal, however. Glasspool and partner Tereza Mihalikova fell 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Laura Siegemund in the mixed doubles. Similarly, Marcus Willis and Heather Watson saw their tournament end following a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) loss to Harrison and Zhang Shuai.

Skupski and Salisbury Advance

Neal Skupski keeps his momentum in the mixed doubles event. Seeded sixth, Skupski and American partner Desirae Krawczyk punched their ticket to the third round after a 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-3 victory over Portugal’s Francisco Cabral and Australian Ellen Perez.

Joe Salisbury also moved forward in the mixed doubles category. Partnering with Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, Salisbury navigated a three-set battle against British pair Ben Jones and Maia Lumsden, closing out the match 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
