I’m on fire!

After crushing it last week, Week 7 saw me continue to dominate, posting a perfect 13-2 record. Simms, not bad himself, went 12-3.

Against the spread, my winning streak continued as I went 12-3, while Simms lagged behind at 9-5. Overall, in the past two weeks, I’m blazing hot with a 25-4 record straight up, compared to Simms’ 24-5. Year-to-date, I stand strong at 73-34, putting me ahead of Simms with a 66-41 record. When it comes to against the spread, my 66-38-3 record outpaces his 52-52-3.

Week 8 Picks: Tight Races Ahead

This week, Simms and I disagree on just two games. Let’s dive in!

Vikings (-2.5) at Rams

This one’s a potential trap for Minnesota, coming off a grueling battle with Detroit just days prior. A victory for the Rams might leave them questioning whether trading stars like Cooper Kupp might be a mistake.

Florio: Rams, 24-21.

Simms: Vikings, 27-24.

Eagles at Bengals (-2)

Both teams are looking to build momentum after crucial wins. Could the Bengals capitalize on getting back to .500?

Florio: Bengals, 27-20.

Simms: Bengals, 31-28.

Ravens (-8.5) at Browns

The Browns seem to have rediscovered their winning identity, boasting a modern-day Jim Brown at tailback and a quarterback whose talent rivals anything they’ve seen since Otto Graham.

Florio: Ravens, 42-20.

Simms: Ravens, 27-14.

Titans at Lions (-11)

This one could be a blowout.

Florio: Lions, 41-17.

Simms: Lions, 31-17.

Colts at Texans (-5)

The Texans are in a crucial position early in the season, holding onto a lead in the AFC South.

Florio: Texans, 27-21.

Simms: Texans, 30-21.

Packers (-4) at Jaguars

Welcome back to reality, Jaguars! Prepare for a tough return home.

Florio: Packers, 34-23.

Simms: Packers, 34-24.

Cardinals at Dolphins (-3.5)

Short week, long flight, and Tua’s return spells trouble for the Cardinals.

Florio: Dolphins, 30-24.

Simms: Dolphins, 24-21.

Jets (-7) at Patriots

“Low energy” versus “soft” describes a clash between struggling franchises.

Florio: Jets, 23-17.

Simms: Jets, 27-17.

Falcons (-2.5) at Buccaneers

Atlanta’s offense poses a challenge, especially given the Buccaneers’ struggles earlier this season. Antoine Winfield Jr.’s presence, however, might disrupt Falcons’ passing plays.

Florio: Buccaneers, 23-20.

Simms: Falcons, 28-24.

Saints at Chargers (-7)

Until Derek Carr returns, the Saints seem destined to struggle against strong opponents.

Florio: Chargers, 24-16.

Simms: Chargers, 31-13.

Bills (-3) at Seahawks

A game that could go either way, with the absence of DK Metcalf for Seattle potentially giving Buffalo the edge despite Amari Cooper’s presence.

Florio: Bills, 27-23.

Simms: Bills, 28-24.

Panthers at Broncos (-9.5)

Young faces a formidable defensive challenge in Denver.

Florio: Broncos, 31-13.

Simms: Broncos, 24-13.

Chiefs (-10) at Raiders

Since last Christmas Day’s loss to Las Vegas, Kansas City is undefeated.

Florio: Chiefs, 24-20.

Simms: Chiefs, 31-16.

Bears (-2.5) at Commanders

Jayden Daniels’ injury status makes a huge difference for Washington.

Florio: Bears, 24-20.

Simms: Bears, 24-20.

Cowboys at 49ers (-4)

A pivotal matchup that could determine the fate of both teams.

Florio: 49ers, 30-21.

Simms: 49ers, 27-24.

Giants at Steelers (-6.5)

Pittsburgh hits the bye week at 6-2, while the Giants face a tough stretch of games ahead.

Florio: Steelers, 27-13.

Simms: Steelers, 24-17.
