Disney magic filled the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars! During the Oct. 22 episode, celebrities and their professional partners brought beloved Disney stories to life, vying for the coveted first 10 of the season.
High Scores and Disney Dreams
Last week saw two pairs tie for the top spot with impressive scores of 9s, setting the stage for a fierce competition. Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, along with Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, aimed to secure that elusive 10.
While Joey and Jenna’s Samba to “Trashin’ the Camp” from Tarzan earned a respectable 25/30, Danny and Witney’s powerful Jazz routine to “Bye Bye Bye” from Deadpool & Wolverine only managed three 9s.
Chandler Kinney Rises to the Challenge
Chandler Kinney, inspired by Carrie Ann Inaba’s feedback, delivered a captivating Paso Doble to “We Own the Night” from her movie ZOMBIES 2. Her high-energy performance with Brandon Armstrong earned them three 9s, solidifying their position as contenders.
Team Roar vs. Team Goofs: The Team Challenge
After individual routines, the cast divided into two teams: Team Roar and Team Goofs. Team Roar, featuring Dwight Howard, Danny Amendola, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Phaedra Parks, delivered a fun routine, earning 24/30. Team Goofs, comprised of Ilona Maher, Joey Graziadei, Chandler Kinney, and Jenn Tran, impressed the judges, with Bruno Tonioli even noting the difficulty in distinguishing the pros from the celebrities. Their performance earned them 27/30.
Elimination Night: Farewell to Phaedra Parks
Adding individual scores to the team scores, Chandler and Brandon remained at the top, followed closely by Ilona and Alan, tied with Joey and Jenna. Danny and Witney, Jenn and Sasha, Dwight and Daniella, Phaedra and Val, and Stephen and Rylee followed. Viewers once again broke the record for single votes in a single night, creating a nail-biting elimination. Ultimately, Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy’s journey on Dancing With the Stars came to an end.
