Pinehurst Medical Clinic Expands Mental Health Services with April Health Partnership

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) has significantly expanded its mental health service offerings through a novel partnership with April Health, a Wysa company specializing in psychiatric support. This collaboration aims to address the growing demand for accessible, coordinated, and evidence-based behavioral health services in the region.

Addressing a Growing Necessitate

PMC serves nearly 60,000 primary care patients annually across seven clinic locations, with over 230,000 primary care appointments delivered each year. Clinicians at PMC have observed a substantial increase in patients seeking support for anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and mental health challenges related to physical conditions like ongoing pain, hormonal changes, cardiometabolic disease, and sleep disorders. A Collaborative Care Model

The partnership with April Health introduces a fully integrated Collaborative Mental Health Care Model to PMC. This model strengthens and scales PMC’s existing team-based approach to mental health care, enabling providers to reach more patients efficiently. PMC primary care patients will continue to receive coordinated behavioral health support, now enhanced by access to April Health’s psychiatrists and behavioral health care managers. Integrated Approach: In-Person and Digital Support

This collaboration is rooted in proactive communication and shared clinical decision-making. In addition to traditional clinical services, eligible PMC patients will benefit from AI-guided self-help tools through the Wysa app, a HIPAA-compliant platform. The Wysa app provides CBT-based exercises, emotional support tools, and skill-building activities designed to help patients manage stress, practice coping strategies, and build resilience between appointments. We are excited to expand the mental health care services we offer to meet all the healthcare needs of our community.” The Pilot
