Pinellas County is currently soliciting applications from dedicated citizens to fill a vacancy on the emergency Medical Services Advisory Council (EMSAC) for a two-year term. This is a vital opportunity to contribute to the ongoing betterment of emergency medical care within our community.Who is Eligible?
To be considered, applicants must be registered voters and full-time residents of Pinellas County.The ideal candidate will bring a diverse viewpoint,representing the varied interests of our population – including those from the business sector,local civic groups,and the general public. The EMSAC plays a crucial role in evaluating and refining emergency medical service delivery throughout Pinellas County. The Council meticulously examines existing procedures and protocols, identifying areas for enhancement and innovation. Their recommendations are directly presented to the Board of County Commissioners – the governing EMS Authority – and relevant staff, influencing decisions that directly impact the quality of care provided to residents. According to the National Highway Traffic safety Management, effective EMS systems are critical for reducing mortality rates in emergency situations, and the EMSAC is a key component of pinellas County’s commitment to this goal.
Meeting Schedule & Application details
The Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council convenes on a quarterly basis to discuss pertinent issues and formulate recommendations. Interested individuals are required to submit a formal application, available at Pinellas County Boards and Committees List.All applications must be received by the close of business on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Selection Process & Public Record
The Board of County Commissioners will thoroughly review all submitted applications and announce their selection at a subsequent Board meeting. Please be aware that all documentation provided to Pinellas County government is subject to the stipulations of Florida’s public records laws.
