Lucy Kennedy Shares Her Festive Traditions and Christmas Plans
Christmas is just around the corner, and TV personality Lucy Kennedy is already buzzing with anticipation. The mum-of-three, who put her tree up in late November, shared her love for the festive season, including her unique Christmas traditions and how she plans on spending the big day with loved ones.
Lucy’s Passion for Christmas
Lucy Kennedy admitted she’s “obsessed” with Christmas. She’s a lover of all things festive, starting her Christmas shopping early, as she puts it – “fail to prepare, prepare to fail.” Lucy begins gathering presents in September and ramps up her festive spirit in November, stocking up on everything from “booze and food” to decorative surprises.
“I just love Christmas so much,” she confesses. “I’ve had my tree up since the last week of November.”
Christmas Morning and Family Traditions
On Christmas Day itself, Lucy will be heading to her sister’s house, where her brother-in-law, a “brilliant cook,” will be taking care of the Christmas feast.
The morning festivities will kick off early with the kids, waking up at half past seven to check their stockings while Lucy tries to sneak in a cup of tea. After opening presents, family plans include mass at their local church, a visit to their grandfather who resides in a nursing home, and then a quick stop at granny’s.
“It’s really lovely,” Lucy comments.
Lucy Accountants’ Secret Knitting
Earlier this year, Lucy completed one of her beloved traditions – sending out 25 Christmas cards annually. “It’s a lovely feeling when you get a Christmas card and open it up,” she explained. She even enlisted her youngest daughter, 7 year old Jess to help her with the task.
Lucy and Richie’s Romance
After over 25 years together and 16 years of marriage,Lucy and her husband Richie don’t shy away from the realities of long-term relationships. “We’re more practical than romantic now,” Lucy admits.
While they might not write passionate love notes, they keep things “practical,”
