Raid on Kampung Bahari Arrests 27 Suspects Using Commuter Trains
Polda Metro Jaya and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) deployed hundreds of police officers via an electric commuter train to raid Kampung Bahari in North Jakarta on Sunday, November 1, 2026, capturing 27 people and seizing thousands of pills, according to reports from Detik news, SINDOnews Regional, and Tirto.id. The operation utilized a special coordination train departing from Tanjung Priok Station to outsmart suspects and approach the raid targets from multiple angles simultaneously, including directly along the neighborhood’s railway tracks.
Train Deployment and Railway Line Operations
KAI Commuter coordinated closely with police to arrange the special train transport. Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary at KAI Commuter, stated in a release reported by Detik news that the 6:25 AM Commuter Line journey from Jakarta Kota to Tanjung Priok operated as a special coordination train (KLB) for police mobility. Karina noted that the transport caused no disruption to regular commuter schedules on that route. However, Detik news noted that KAI Commuter issued an apology for minor delays of four to nineteen minutes across three trips, which stemmed from crowds gathering on the tracks during the raid.
SINDOnews Regional reported that the hundreds of officers poured out of the train directly onto the tracks at Kampung Bahari to immediately dismantle drug shacks lining the railway corridor. Footage reviewed by SINDOnews Regional showed officers forcing open makeshift kiosks suspected of serving as drug distribution points, facing resistance from individuals who threw firecrackers at the approaching forces.
Joint Forces Sweep Open-Air Drug Dens
The operation brought together a multi-agency security apparatus. Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Directorate Senior Bismo Teguh Prakoso explained that the sweep involved the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri), the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Metro Jaya Police, and Mobile Brigade units, as reported by Detik news. Bismo stated that officers found active drug transactions occurring inside stalls positioned right along the railway tracks. Tirto.id reported that officers arrested 27 people during the coordinated sweeps. Initial questioning identified three individuals as active drug users and one person as a narcotics owner, according to Tirto.id.

Seized Narcotics and Future Demolition Plans
Police recovered significant contraband during the searches. Tirto.id reported that authorities seized hundreds of grams of methamphetamine, quantities of marijuana, thousands of ecstasy pills, and an ecstasy-pressing machine. Officers also recovered firearms, sharp weapons, and glass bongs used for consuming narcotics. Bismo confirmed to Tirto.id that law enforcement plans to demolish the illegal stalls lining the railway tracks to prevent dealers from reoccupying the area. Meanwhile, Dadang, cited by Tirto.id, noted that authorities had mapped potential escape routes beforehand and that local scavengers operating near the site would need proper identification and community management to secure the neighborhood against future drug trafficking.
