Portland Police Shut Down Drug Operation Operating Out of Southeast Apartment
Portland police have arrested a suspect accused of running a large-scale drug operation out of a low-income apartment in Southeast Portland. The operation, described by authorities as a “drugstore,” involved the distribution of fentanyl, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, counterfeit pills, and the production of fake identification cards.
Details of the Bust
On Tuesday, February 27, 2026, officers served a search warrant at an apartment within the Hazel Heights complex near SE 126th Avenue and SE Stark Street, according to Portland Police Sergeant Kevin Allen KATU News. The search uncovered a significant quantity of narcotics and related materials.
The seized items included:
- Approximately 57 grams of fentanyl
- Approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine
- Approximately 29 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- 27 suspected counterfeit Xanax pills
- A firearm and ammunition
- Multiple stolen identification cards
- A commercial-grade ID printer
- Multiple stolen checks
- A manipulated or stolen passport
- Drug distribution materials, including scales, packaging materials, and a money counter
Expanding Investigation and Recriminalization of Drugs
Authorities are not releasing the suspect’s name at this time to avoid compromising potential further arrests. This approach involves arresting individuals in possession of drugs and encouraging them to cooperate in identifying dealers and suppliers.
The operation followed a targeted effort at a known open-air drug market near Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street. Information gathered there led officers to the apartment complex, where residents had previously reported drug activity.
Potential Charges and Federal Prosecution
The suspect has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges including unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, felony possession of fentanyl, aggravated identity theft, and felon in possession of a firearm, as well as multiple outstanding felony warrants.
