Ministry of Home Affairs Intervenes in Prabumulih Principal Dismissal

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Ministry of home Affairs has taken direct control of the case involving the removal of Roni Ardiansyah, the Principal of Prabumulih Middle school 1, by Prabumulih Mayor Arlan.

This direct intervention is unusual. Typically, such cases are handled in stages, beginning with the Governor of South Sumatra Province.

Inspector General Sang Made Mahendra, of the Ministry of Home Affairs, explained the move as a form of central goverment mitigation.

“This is in the context of mitigation,” he stated when questioned at the Ministry of Home Affairs ITJEN in Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Mahendra indicated that mitigation includes issuing direct sanctions related to the violation.
