ADP National Employment Report Revised Due to Benchmarking to QCEW Data

October 1, 2025 – ADP today announced revisions to its National Employment Report following its annual benchmarking to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) data.

The recalibration resulted in a downward revision of 43,000 jobs for the September 2025 ADP National Employment Report. Additionally, job creation in August 2025 was revised significantly from an initial estimate of 54,000 to a decrease of 3,000 jobs.

ADP’s full-year benchmarking will be completed in Febuary 2026 with the release of the January 2026 National Employment Report.

The company noted that the most recent QCEW release contained a higher-than-normal number of missing or redacted values, especially regarding establishment size, NAICS sector, and geographic subgroups. This necessitated the benchmark calculation to be performed at a broader level of granularity than in previous years.

The October 2025 ADP National Employment Report will be released on November 5, 2025, at 8:15 a.m.ET.
