Examination Launched into Elenite Holiday Village Flood Deaths
the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the deaths of the four casualties in the flood at the Elenite Holiday Village on october 3rd.
This is why police, the Regional Directorate for National and Construction Control (RDNSK), and the Regional Environmental Protection Inspectorate (RIEW) in Burgas are conducting inspections in the buildings of nessebar Municipality today, according to Mediapool sources.
For six days, the prosecution has remained silent regarding the actions taken after the flood claimed four lives. The pre-trial proceedings were clarified by an official proclamation from the DNSC, which reports to the ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW). Yesterday, Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov requested assistance from the prosecutor’s office to determine if any illegal construction occured.
The Ministry of Interior’s document seizure operation related to the Elenite flood began around 3 pm today, concurrently in the buildings of the Municipality of Nessebar and the RIEW and RDNSC in Burgas.
Earlier, the crisis headquarters in burgas convened this morning under the leadership of Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov. The Mayor of Nessebar, Nikolay Dimitrov, and the Deputy Mayor of tsarevo, Denis Dihanov, as well as the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas, Senior Commissioner Vladimir marinov, also attended the meeting.

On October 8,2025,the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Burgas requested copies of all available documents concerning the “construction of buildings,water and drainage facilities,and infrastructure in the villa settlement” Elenite from the RDNSC.
