The PSOE will hold its first meeting with Junts this Saturday since the signing of the investiture pact after squaring up the agendas of the interlocutors of both parties, as EL MUNDO has been able to confirm. The event is expected to take place in the Swiss city of Ginebra.
The first of these contacts, which are expected to be monthly, will not finally take place in the month of November, as planned, but on December 2. In any case, the quote from Carles Puigdemont with the party of Pedro Sanchez will occur before the President of the Government holds his first meeting Pere Aragonésthe leader at the head of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
The meeting in Geneva will be the first to be held with an “international verifier”, one of the demands that Junts made to sign the agreement that has allowed the reissue of the coalition Executive. At La Moncloa they are avoiding for now revealing the identity of this “mechanism” for supervising the conversations which, according to socialist sources, could be an organization specialized in mediation.
The meeting between both formations has been set on a date that does not overlap with Sánchez’s international agenda, who was in last week Israel y Palestine and this Friday he attends the Climate Summit being held in Dubai. It will also occur after the official opening of the Cortes that took place this Wednesday in Congress with the presence of the Kings.
The PSOE delegation at the Geneva meeting will be led by its Secretary of Organization, Santos Cerdan, who was the person who signed the agreement with Junts and who was previously photographed in Brussels with Puigdemont to pave the way. His trusted team in the Organization Secretariat also participated in the negotiations in the Belgian capital, although the party does not confirm who will accompany him on this new trip.
