Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life In Style

The largest exhibition ever held on Queen Elizabeth’s clothes, including the sumptuous gowns she wore for her wedding adn coronation, will be on display at Buckingham Palace next year to celebrate the centenary of her birth.

The historic royal exhibition will feature approximately 200 items, around half of which have never been exhibited before. These items trace the life of the monarch and her 70-year reign.

Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96, was the longest-serving monarch Britain has ever known, and her dress collection is considered one of the most critically important of 20th-century British fashion. She would have celebrated her centenary on April 21, 2026.

Highlights include a tulle bridesmaid dress worn by Princess Elizabeth,aged 8,in 1934,and many beautifully tailored gowns made by the monarch’s most influential designer,norman Hartnell.
