Quimper Celebrates International Women’s Rights Day with Diverse Events
The city and agglomeration of Quimper are demonstrating their commitment to women’s rights through a series of events from March 3rd to March 21st, 2026, culminating in International Women’s Rights Day on March 8th. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about sexism, gender stereotypes, and the importance of equality between women and men.
Artistic Expressions and Exhibitions
A central event is the exhibition featuring the works of Any Le Torrivellec and Marie-Noëlle Vives, opening on Tuesday, March 3rd at L’Athéna in Ergué-Gabéric and continuing through Saturday, March 21st. Any Le Torrivellec is an amateur painter whose work focuses on the theme of women, making her exhibition particularly fitting for International Women’s Day. She is showcasing her art alongside Marie-Noëlle Vives, a fellow artist from Gabon, who also explores similar themes in a figurative style. The exhibition will also include texts and poems reflecting on the condition of women throughout history.
An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 11:30 a.m., with participation from young people from the Espace Jeunes and the CME.
